Pregnancy Journal Week 19

So I'm a day late on updating my pregnancy journal. I have a good reason. I got a call yesterday from my Dr. insisting that I come in today. He received my Ultrasound report and felt it was very urgent to get me in right away. So many things ran through my mind. The major thing was bed rest. How would I do that? I arranged child care and waited for today to arrive. I got the kids situated and went to me Dr. I waited for 1 hour and a half. He came in and told me that my placenta had abnormal blood flow and that I was at risk for intra uterine fetal demise. He wanted to check me for a blood clotting disorder, and I would be put on blood thinners. Heprin is the blood thinner and the only way to take it is by injection. He told me that they were going to show me how to give myself a shot twice a day. AHHHHHHHHH I can't do that. So I asked if I could have Jonathan do it for me. My Dr. was completely fine with that. So soon we will be taught how to make me a pin cushion for the next 4.5 months. YEAH???? He told me if I didn't do this that the baby would die. I have to have an ultrasound in 3 weeks to check on the blood flow. What is the cause of this???? Dr. thinks it could be that my uterus is getting too old. I'm only almost 30. I'm not old. But I guess my uterus isn't as good as others. So this is for sure my last baby. I can't do this again. It's just too scary. I'm not on bed rest but I'm told that I have to limit my activity. I can't do anything that's going to bring up my heart rate. I also asked if the baby is going to come early and he said that he didn't know. Well this is going to be difficult, and scary. But I can do difficult things. I do have faith that my baby is going to be born healthy. I just have to be super careful.

The BIG Ultrasound!

I've already have had an ultrasound that only told us the gender of the baby. So yesterday I had the ultrasound that tells you how organs and growth of the baby are doing. It was a really long ultrasound at a high risk ultrasound place. (my dr. sends all of his patients there). Yes she's still a girl. She weighs 9 ozs and is measuring right on time. Everything looks great. So after the ultrasound the tech told me that she was going to show the Dr. the pictures and then the Dr. would be in to talk to me. WHAT?!?!? I've never had the Dr. talk to me after an ultrasound. So I had to wait like 10 min in suspense. The Dr. came in and told me that the baby looked really healthy but...........BUT!!! there is a small problem. The babies umbilical has an abnormality that isn't allowing the blood to flow at the correct velocity. It's called Abnormal Umbilical Cord Artery Doppler. What does this mean....... it means the baby could be small or I could get high blood pressure during pregnancy. Both could result in bed rest and early delivery. How does a mother of 4 stay on bed rest. I will know more of what my Dr. wants me to do next Wed. I also have another ultrasound at 26 to 30 weeks. They will check the growth of the baby and go from there. I would really appreciate prayers to come my way.

Monday Memory #9

Lily started crawling when she turned 7 1/2 months old. Lily being my first baby every milestone took forever. I just wanted her to do everything right away. I've learned that babies can take their sweet time becoming mobile.

Can't you see the determination in her face.
It's hard work trying to learn to crawl. I just love her little tongue sticking out as she concentrates on the task at hand.

In Need of Baby Girl Clothes!

Since it's been nearly 6 years ago I had a baby girl I have nothing for this new baby girl. I've been looking on Craig's list a lot. All the good deals are for babies in need of lots of summer clothes. So if anyone is getting rid of baby girl clothes that would suit a baby born in Sept. I'll be more than happy to pay for them (for a good deal). Buying everything new is just way more than I can do. Really I just don't want to do it. So just let me know if, what, and how much you want for it that would be great.

Pregnancy Journal Week 18.

Wow time is just flying by. I can't believe I'm just 2 weeks away from being half way done. Soon it will be summer break for the girls and then time will fly by. Summers always fly for me. School years are soooooo slooooooowwww. I just hope it's not too hot. HAHAHA yeah right. As you all know I broke down and got my Ultrasound on Saturday. It was super super quick and didn't get to see much other than what we paid for. The gender, but that was what we wanted right. I'm excited for my ultrasound on Monday as well. They will do all the measurements, switch from 2d to 3d (very cool), and give me lots of pictures and a video. Jonathan won't be there so the video is very exciting for him. I'll be able to see her little face, but it's not a true description of what she will look like. Babies at 19 weeks are more skeletal as they don't have any chubbs on them yet. I'm going to take Lily and Emma with me. I think it will be fun for them. I don't want to go alone either. As for this week I've been sick AGAIN. I just don't get it. It seems as if I just can't get well. I've had lots of stomach problems. I wouldn't be surprised if I've lost more weight. Ugh it will pass. I've felt the baby move more, and I've been getting more practice contractions. Don't worry they aren't real they just prepare you for the real thing. It just starts earlier the more babies you have. The kids are helping me out tons. I'm really relying on Lily and Emma to help out with the house. They need prodding but they are great helpers. Peter wants to help as much as possible. When ever I ask the girls to get a bottle for Benjamin, or fetch me a diaper he wants to do it. So with the bottles Lily pours it and Peter brings it to Benjamin. He feels so big afterwards. I love it that he has such a desire to help out. I'm really curious if that will change once the baby comes. Other than that not much else is going on. Lets hope for a sick free week next week.

Monday Memory #8

I remember the day I became a Mother. It was a day I had waited for. I dreamed about this day. I had many years of preparation. I worked at a daycare, and being the 4Th oldest of 11 kids I had lots of experience. But having your own is such a rewarding time. Lily smiled at me the moment they gave her too me. It was a real bonding experience.
It was just Lily and I for a long time. I sure enjoyed her.
I love love love being a Mommy. It's the greatest gift I have ever received. I would want anything more.

The Revelation!!!

Well we know what is occupying my belly.
A BABY of course, but we know if we have joined the BLUE or PINK team.
To make it interesting we thought of a fun way to tell everyone.
Right after the ultrasound we called Jonathan's Mom and Dad and just told them the news.
But for everyone else they got a text saying
"We know the gender so decode the message to know for yourself
ytsoantiob
send us your answer"
We got text messages back very fast and I thought there is no way they all guessed that fast.
So the answers were a variety of "it's a boy" answers.

HAHAHAHA.

But one person GOT IT

So the answer was

"IT'S NOT A BOY"

Here is our new little GIRL. She has her arm across her face so we couldn't get any profile shots. I'm just so glad that I have another ultrasound in a week.

One of the many gender shots. We are just so happy that we are getting a girl.

Now on to a BIG question WHAT ARE WE GOING TO NAME HER. Well for a while we have played around with the name Eliana Belle, Isabella Hope, Isabella Nicole. But last night we just couldn't decide. All of the names were very cute. We liked them all. But with lots of thinking we have come to the decision of

Miriam Belle

We are sure that this is the final name, and we love it. We thought of not announcing the name, but with the arrival of 3 babies coming at once we were concerned that we may come to the problem of some of us choosing the same name. But we don't think someone would want this name. So we thought just in case we need to announce it now.

Easter '09

Here are some Easter pictures to enjoy. Each of the kids with their baskets.

Fishing on Friday.

Jonathan had the day off last Friday so we went fishing.

Jonathan bated the hook, and the kids watched.
Jonathan did the first cast off into the water.

The kids waited patiently for a bite.

Peter has been practicing casting the fishing line for a couple of weeks. He had lots of fun. We didn't catch anything though. That's ok maybe next time.

Jonathan's Diploma Came.

It is so real now. I know that Jonathan is graduated and he doesn't have anymore school. But when his diploma came in the mail it just sunk in really fast. Wow it's on paper. It's not just real to us, but it has been recognized by the "MAN". Those who make it official says yes we have released Jonathan from our grasps of never ending school. So congrats Jonny!!!

Here is the finished product of Jonathan's graduation invitation. I made it all by myself and I think it looks good. I'm going to be sending them out soon.

Pregnancy Journal Week 17

Well I had another appt. yesterday and it was a lot of waiting for an 3 min. appt. He's taking care of me so oh well. I'm measuring right on time. I've lost another pound so that's a 5 lb weight loss. I'm eating really I am. I just can't eat stuff I shouldn't so it's good. I do think that the scale will move up ward I'm just hoping it's only 15lbs at the most. That's how much baby and all the other stuff weighs. The heart beat sounded "girlish" to the Dr. When he said that it just drove me crazy. AHHHHH WHY ARE YOU TEASING ME. So this morning I decided that I'm not waiting any longer. There is a place in Phoenix that you can get a gender ultrasound and I got the last appt. for this Saturday at 2:30 pm. Both of us are very excited to find out. Also I'm doing this as Jonathan can't come to the ultrasound I already have planned and I'm not finding out without him. So I'm not just being impatient. I have played around with the idea of waiting until Jonathan's graduation to tell everyone in an exciting way, but Jonathan (and I) don't think we can wait that long. So I need other fun ideas to tell the family. Other than that I'm finally over my second cold. My energy came and went. But I'm hoping it will soon return. So tune in on Saturday or Sunday for the big announcement. (if baby isn't too modest) If not Monday the 27th I have another Ultrasound.

Monday Memory #7

This memory is about Jonathan and his first daughter Lily. At the time we found out we had to have her 3 weeks early. Jonathan was so nervous and reality was settling in. He was going to be the sole provider in our home. What a responsibility that was placed on him. He was very excited as well.
He loved having a baby girl to call his own.

Jonathan loves it when his baby snuggles up and sleeps while he holds them.

Jonathan would talk with Lily and get some quality time in.

Lily's piano lessons started early. Jonathan has taught her a lot and she is doing well on the piano.

Babies heartbeat and kicks.

This is my babies heart beat and it's much easier to hear. I put it in a video format so you don't have to go to another site to listen. The heart beat is there but you can hear when the baby kicks the doppler several times.

I'm Such A Nerd!!

Ok this is the last post for today I promise. But I just had to do it.
BACK STORY:

We hadn't mowed our lawn all winter because our lawn mower broke. So I finally asked the neighbor to use theirs and I was mowing and Jonathan said just leave a little bit and I refused to do it. (I did it after he went inside the house). So on Monday I had to mow again because it had been a while since I have done it. Underneath the tramp the grass is really long and that is the last part I mowed. Before mowing it I showed Jonathan a perfectly round space of grass that was really long. He told me not to mow it. He wanted to see how long it could get. I again told him no and started to mow it. (He went inside again.) Then I got the idea to give him something to remember his long grass. After I was done I called to him to look out the upstairs window to the backyard and this is what he saw.

Peter Peter Peter

I told Peter to smile while I was taking pictures this morning and he said "I just want to be sad".

Then I was about to put the camera away and he said "No I happy now!" so I took a happy picture for him and he continued to run away saying "I happy, I happy!" What a silly little boy.

Benjamin has 8 teeth.

It took Benjamin so long to get teeth. He got his first at 8 months two at a time then by the time he was 11 months old he started to get the other 6. That was a rough month.

Pregnancy Journal Week 16

I'm starting my 4th month of my pregnancy this week. Nothing is really different this week compared to last. I really don't think I've grown any at all. All that is happening is that I'm growing ever impatient to find out what my baby is. I even contemplated going to an elective ultrasound to find out the gender. But that's 80 bucks I don't need to spend. It's just so tempting. I have my ultrasound in less than 3 weeks and it seems as if it's taking forever. OK I'm going to stop talking about it now. The fate of my future is riding on this ultrasound. If it's a girl we are done with having babies. But if it's a boy Jonathan wants to try for another girl. I just want to be done. But the kids are both of our kids so why tell Jonathan he can't have another. Really now I'm done talking about this. On another note I've regained some of my energy. I planted my garden and got very sore after wards. But I love my garden. We have a space just for our pumpkin patch. We planted big huge pumpkins and little bitty ones for the kids to paint for Halloween. Back to the pregnancy stuff. I don't feel the baby moving very much just yet but that is to be expected. I still listen for the heart beat daily. It is so reassuring. The heart beat is always in the mid 150's. All my kids were like that. I also want to mention that I don't dream about babies when I'm pregnant. Most pregnant women do. I dream that others are pregnant, but not any gender dreams. My Sister in law said that she had a dream that she was having a boy. I just don't get those dreams. Watch tonight I do!!! haha

I gave Jonathan this face because he was taking so many pictures.
I don't see any difference in size since last week.

Monday Memory # 6

Blessing day 3/3/02

This weeks memory is about when Lily got blessed. It was something so very new for us. This was our first child to be blessed. It was such a wonderful day.
My Mother-in-Law made her beautiful dress with the material that was left over from my wedding dress. My Sister-in-Law also made the blanket with the same material

Pregnancy Journal Week 15

This is the week I start taking belly pictures. I've been like this for the last 3 or 4 weeks. It seems as if I grow a lot at first and then stay stagnant in my growth for some time. I'm over the morning sickness, but to my luck I got a nasty cold. Uhhhhgggggg it seems every pregnancy I get a cold. It doesn't help that the kids are coming home with germs. This week has been an emotional one other than the cold. I don't know but my emotions are pretty whacked this time around. I've been kinda panicking a little. I've been thinking how in the world am I going to handle 5 kids. It's not just 5 kids but 5 little kids. I've been worrying about being careful to keep my eating really clean. I really don't want to get diabetes. If I have said that before you know how serious I am about it. My lack of sleep isn't helping too much either. Sorry if I sound like I'm complaining a lot on this post hey I'm just keeping it honest. I want a real account of my pregnancy. Other than the complaints I'm really happy to be pregnant even if the end is scary. I listen to the baby daily, and some times I think I hear 2 different heart beats. I know there are only one in there but I put the Doppler on one part of my tummy and I hear a really fast heart beat and then I go to another part of my tummy and there is a slower heart beat. Not as slow as mine but slower than the really fast one. Jonathan thinks it's just picking it up at a different angle. I agree with him, but it doesn't help the imagination. Do you know how crazy it would be if I had twins. I think I would die. But no more thinking like that. Oh and I had Emma take the picture for me. I was much too impatient for Jonathan to come home and do it. Ohh and add that to my emotional state. MAJOR IMPATIENCE. Alright just 4 weeks until the big ultrasound. I'm so excited.
