A "birth" day party for Benjamin.

Last Sunday we had a "birth" day party for Benjamin. We had a good turn out.
The three older girl grandchildren helped me unwrap the presents as Benjamin was passed around.
My girls. They had so much fun because we had sundaes as well.
The men comented on how this was their first "shower" they had attended. They spent their time doing the rubics cube and ignoring the girly stuff.
Benjamin got this really cozy blanket from my sister-in-law Maria. She is just so crafty.

Peter had fun just running around being a BOY!!

He just looks so peaceful in his comfy blanket. Thanks to all that came is sure was fun.

Benjamins first bath at home.

Benjamin had his first bath at home and he did pretty good at first. But then got cold and wanted to be done. I've never had a first bath go without crying involved.

Warning Graphic!!!!!

Lily lost another tooth (this makes 3) and I'm going to show you the process of getting it out
A trusting Lily lets her Daddy wrap floss around her very wiggly tooth
After many many atempts at getting it around the tooth just right. Daddy pulls the strings and....
out comes the tooth with Mommy right there with the napkin so Lily doesn't freak out about the blood.
She now is sporting a new "window". This is the first tooth that came out without the new one coming in first. I'm curious which one will come out next. I can't wait for the two front top teeth to come out.

Benjamin is here

After my disappointing appointment on Monday I admitted defeat and surrendered to the fact that I would be pregnant for at least two more weeks. Tuesday morning comes and I notice Lily is sick, so I didn't let her go to school. I was feeling horrid as well. So I put on the TV and let the kids play while I just laid around. I just couldn't seem to get anything done. Around 1 pm I started to feel the dreaded contractions. I just thought to myself "these aren't real" So I got into the bath and they just got worse so I got out and walked around a bit and that didn't do any good. It just made me feel really bad. I called Jonathan and told him what was happening. It was about 3:30 by now. He was 2 hours away and by the way i was sounding Jonathan insisted that he call his mom to come get me and the kids. By 4:15 we got the kids in the car and were on our way to meet Jonathan at his parents house. Let me tell you it was a long 30 min drive there. I was debating if Jonathan and I should go to the hospital or not. As I have had lots and I mean lots of experience with false labor. When we get to Jonathan's parents house he was waiting for us. I tell Jonathan to eat something first and then we would go. I didn't want to eat as I can't eat when I'm anxious. We get to the hospital about 6pm and I'm at 5 cm. Yeah as I was only 1.5 cm just the day before. I ask for an epidural right away. I get to my room and get my drugs. Baby is still up really high. Dr doesn't want to break my water as major complications can arise. So we wait and wait and wait. My labor starts to stall. finally I get some pitocin as I'm not dialating anymore. Hours go on my Dr. is getting concerned that we may have to resort to a C section. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! So we wait it out alittle longer. By now it is 10 ish wensday morning and I'm still 5 cm. that is 20 hours after the start of my labor. I'm exhausted because all night my blood pressure cuff was setting off an alarm every 15 mins all night. So no sleep for me. So I tell Jonathan to go and get some breakfast. As soon as the door closed after him I felt a hard hit and GUSH!!!!!! My water had broken. I yell for Jonathan to come back but he didn't hear me. I called for the nurses and they rush in fearful that the cord would come out first and cut off the babies blood supply. That wasn't the case so everyone relaxed. I finally dialated to a 7 and hoped Jonathan would come back in time as I was feeling lots of pressure. He got back and told him what had happend. He was disappointed and wanted to be there when all the excitement was going on. He had just enough time to eat before I was ready to push. About fifteen to twenty mintues later Benjamin came out. He weighed 8lbs 1oz, and 20.5 inches long. He is a very good baby and rarely cries, until they circumized him. He didn't like that. So after a 21 hour labor and three and a half days in the hospital we are finally home.

Peter is just soooo cute

Peter didn't get a nap in the other day and this is where we found him

Landscaping

After 7 weeks of waiting we finally got our landscaping in. They didn't bring enough rock but they brought it another day and now it is finished.

No baby yet.

Well I had another Dr. appt today. Ugh, no change at ALL!!!! I can not believe it. I was woken up with pretty intense contractions all weekend. I almost woke Jonathan up to go to the hospital several times. Sure glad I didn't. Appearently the baby isn't even in a good position for contractions to be affective at all. So my dr. said that even inducing me at this point wouldn't do any good. The risk of a csection is much higher with baby in this position. So he told me to do an exercise that would encourage baby to get in the correct position. Basically it's the "stink bug" position. You know when kids fall asleep with their faces on the bed and bottoms in the air droolling all over their sheets. That's what I'm told to do ALL NIGHT (minus the drool.) Yes Dr. said all night. So I'm not expecting to have this little one come out anytime soon. I'd say I'll go the 2 weeks I have left.

Lily going to the Zoo!

Today Lily had her very first field trip to the Zoo. She has been so excited about this trip ever sence she found out about it.

Margaret went with her. I was going to but I realized that it would be just too much for me to do being that I'm so close to having this baby. Maybe all the walking would have put me into labor. But who wants to be in labor with absolutely no energy.
She had such a fun time.
Brushing the goats.
Looking at the giraffes
All that walking and being out in the sun wore her out. I'm glad that she had such a great time.

Only 20 days left!!!!

Ok now I'm getting excited. Baby should be here in about 3 weeks or less. I went to the Dr. yesterday and I'm measuring 4.5 weeks ahead. Ahhhhh how big is this baby. If I'm measuring that big on monday for my next appt. I will get an ultrasound to see how big he is, and if he is really big we will talk induction. Part of me is hoping he's on the big side so I can get him out earlier, but I don't want to push out a huge baby. Ugh the last weeks of pregnancy is the hardest part. But 3 weeks is nothing compared to the 40 you have to wait when you first find out your pregnant. So here's to hoping for a baby that likes to make an early appearance.

Who will Benjamin look like

Will he look like Peter

or like Emma?

How about Lily
Or Mommy?
Maybe Daddy?

36 weeks!!!!!

Only 4 weeks to go. It better be less or I'm going to die. Not really but being pregnant it is expected that I be alittle dramatic. I just feel huge, tired, and very anxious to get this little boy out of me. So I had a appointment today and I'm measuring a week and a half ahead. Dialated just alittle and he is still very high. I know things can change very fast but I want it to happen now. I know, I know he needs to "bake" for alittle longer. But with Peter I did go over due 5 days and that just scares me right now. I do know how very blessed it is to be pregnant, and I thank Heavenly Father daily for 3 healthy children and one more to come. So I have 28 days to go and counting.

It has happend!!!!!

You know this is going to happen when you have two older sisters. Emma thought it would be funny to dress Peter up as a balerina. I remember my step sister wanted to dress up my older brother as a girl. She curled his hair and put him in a dress. I admit that I did that to my younger brother as well. Big sisters with out knowing can cause some serious emotional issues with their little brothers.
Emma thought is was so funny. She loved it!!!!! I'm really relieved that we are having a boy next. Peter needs someone to help battle the feminine forces that come their way.

Emma's wisdom!!!!!

So I was complaining when Jonathan was in chicago for a Whole 5 days. This is how it went.

(me talking to Emma)

Me: Isn't it sooooo sad that Daddy has been gone so long.
Emma: How long has Daddy been gone.
Me: a couple of days but he will be gone for 5 days total.
Emma: Well you know 5 days REALLY isn't that long.
Me: Oh ok.

She was basically saying "Mommy stop complaining, he'll be back soon enough." Emma has shown me alot of common sense in her short 4 years of life. I'm just amazed that she GETS things, and reminds me to think logically when I need to.

Pregnancy Update

Well tomorrow I'll be 34 weeks. So only 6 or less weeks to go. I had a Dr. appt. today and I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead still. I asked if he thought the baby was going to be big or not. Dr. said they won't know until later. I hope he's not too big, just healthy. I'm going every week now. It's hard because I'm in queen creek and dr. is in tempe. I also have to make the appts. in the morning because of Lily's school. But it will all be over shortly. 40 weeks is like an eternity when you are waiting for something so wonderful. Not to mention you are huge, tired, and unable to move without pain. So worth it in the end though. The girls are so very excited and sees the wait for him to get here to just be too long. I think they will enjoy the baby very much. Peter on the other hand I don't know what is going to happen with him. I belong to him when it comes to other babies. But all in all we are counting down the days to when our 4th child comes to our family. Wow 4 seems like alot. We'll do ok, I hope.
